Australia’s coastlines are among the most biologically rich and culturally significant in the world—but they are under increasing pressure from climate change, overdevelopment, plastic pollution, and habitat loss. To respond effectively, we need more than goodwill. We need knowledge.
At the Australian Coastal Conservation Alliance (ACCA), we recognise that research is the foundation for every smart conservation strategy, every sustainable policy, and every coastal community action. It’s how we know where to act, how to measure our impact, and how to adapt to the changing conditions of our fragile marine ecosystems.
Scientific insight guides everything we do—from school programs to national advocacy campaigns. That’s why we invest in researchers who are asking the right questions, using innovative methods, and involving the communities closest to the coast.
ACCA offers two grant rounds each year—in March and September. Funding ranges from $5,000 to $25,000, depending on scope and impact.
